In the seaport towns of Colonial New England, ship captain's would return
home from their long ocean voyages with never before seen edible treasures
from the far ends of the earth. One of these rare treasures was the pineapple.
Brought back from the mysterious tropical islands. This rare delicacy was
placed a top the front door as a welcome sign to celebrate his return home.
Charles Fradin has designed this symbol of hospitality in hand carved wood
and finished in a worn whitewash. Perfect for resting on a table or mantle.
An elegant reminder of hospitality then... and now.
